After clicking the update icon on the desktop, I went through the directions. But
I got the following message:
nwupg: Initialising.
extracting:nwc32upg.
nwupg:creating new version of nwc32upg.
nwupg:The update failed.
[BADSRC] Target file was not used in creation of the upgrade
update failed.
Where have I gone wrong?
I can't give you specific instructions since I've had version 2 for quite a while, but try rebooting and trying again. Sometimes that cures problems.

Your error message tends to indicate that you are using NWC1, not NWC2.
In order to avoid any problem, you should use the Help, Access NoteworthySoftware.com command in the NWC2 beta. This will give you instructions on updating, assuming you are already enrolled in the beta.
