Title: Message Numbers
Post by: Peter Crossley on 1998-06-17 04:00 AM
I have noticed references to message numbers in the forum. How can one retrieve items by message number?

Click in the location bar of your browser, move the cursor to the end and change the document name at the end to the name of the document referenced.
e.g. this page is:
msg #682

for 400.htm, changed the URL in your browser from 682.htm to 400.htm

when referencing a msg, use '!' before its number. (Refer to help on the top of the page). for example, this very msg can be referenced by 4 chars : ! 6 8 2 which gives https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=567.
'!' can also be used for absolute URL (beginning with http only ?).
Eric, could you modify the '!' tool to allow !number#reply_number ? :-)

HTH.

For those who have not done so recently, click the Help link to read about the new link features in the forum. Also, you can get the offline forum to be able to browse and search the forum contents at your leisure. We will consider the reply part suggestion.
