Title: Frustrated ~:(
Post by: Bill Price on 1998-06-11 04:00 am
Here's what I want to do. I need to orchestrate for a
church orchestra. I created my own rhythm track to use as
a metronome and made a recording, but I can't figure out
the whole key signature/accidentals thing. When I entered
a key signature or attempted to transpose the newly
recorded staff, notes got re-written, sounded wrong, and
generally nothing worked. Has anyone written a step-by-
step approach to recording from a MIDI keyboard?

I think this'll work every time.
1) Record your midi track
2) Tools | Force accidentals
3) Put the key sig at the front
4) Tools | Audit accidentals

Any comments anyone?

Bill - Is it possible that you transposed without first placing a C major key signature at the head of the staff.
If no key signature exists before transposition the result can become confused.
