Title: Authentication Errors
Post by: Rick G. on 2006-04-02 02:42 AM
When trying to access the forum, I have been directed here:

http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwc2/user/?error=wrong-date (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwc2/user/?error=wrong-date)

Selecting My NoteWorthy Community from the dropdown menu gets around it.
The forum time is displayed 1 hour later than my computer's time. I suspect that this is due to the change to DST which will not occur for several hours.

Problem has gone away in less than an hour.

Hmmmm  Interesting. I wonder just how accurate the computer clock needs to be.

Have visions of suddenly being carted off to nowhere land just because my computer clock is 3 minutes slow.

Just imagine the Rail services announcement "Due to the tardiness of the station clock ...... ". So that's what happens to my train in the morning.

LOL

The time shown by this forum is under the control of your profile, but you have to upgrade your account to NWC2 Tester to be able to adjust this setting.

I am not sure why you got this error when using the Help, Access... command in NWC2. I looked over the authentication and don't see any problem with DST handling.  I'll dig a little further, although this NWC2 command is one of the things that will change in NWC2.
