Title: Beamed Notes & Chord Symbols
Post by: Jon Featherstone on 1998-06-10 04:00 AM
The problem of Chord symbols inserted as teXt between two beamed notes unfortunately (and incorrectly) removes the beam.
I have found the work-around of entering the chord symbols as Lyrics, and selecting "Top" positioning. For chords with no symbol, I insert an underscore. This method eliminates all the alignment nightmares of other methods.

I found a limitation to this (excellent) method : when you need to have GuitarChords AND lyrics.
Typically you'd like to have chords above and lyrics below. So even with 2 lyrics lines it won't work.
If the experimental feature (staff layering namely) is kept, no problem : you just have to duplicate the score, superpose them and put chords above on one, and lyrics on bottom on the other.

Hope this helps.
