Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a hymnal project and I am having trouble getting the numbers to line up when I go to number the lyric lines. for example:
_ 1. hymn lyrics...........
_ 2. More lyrics......
_3. Even more lyrics....
_ 4. <-- numbers are not lining up.
Some of the hymn scores I downloaded from other sites are perfectly in order, the numbering lines up at the beginning and everything, so I know there is a way to do it but for some reason I never can get the numbers to line up correctly when I do my own score. I have been using the underscore to separate the numbers and the first word like the other scorers did (i.e. 1._firstlyric) still doesn't line them up properly... Please help, I couldn't find anything in the help menu on this. Thanks.

Try using a non-proportional font for the Lyrics, like Courier. That may fix your problem.
I confirm a problem appears also to exist in NWC2.
When you select Lyrics (Edit, Lyrics or CTRL-L), on the Configuration tab, there is a choice for selecting "Standard Rules" or "Start of Accidental/Note". "Standard Rules" center the lyric under the note (or so it would seem), but "Start of Accidental/Note" left justifies the lyric syllable under the note.
Of course, for long words/syllables, the note spacing changes somewhat to accommodate it. But that's the tradeoff.
You might want to check to see if this solves your problem.

This is a better question for the newsgroup where we can post samples. You should be able to find info on how to access the newsgroups on the site map.
Best solution I have found is somewhat complicated.
1) put a quarter grace note where you want the number.
make it the same pitch as the next note. tie it, make it Lyrics=Always, Visibility=Never
2) put the verse # at the beginning each lyric line followed by a space. If you have fewer than 10 verses, the numbers should all line up vertically under the grace note.
