Title: Extra midi controllers
Post by: Chris Coon on 1998-05-24 04:00 AM
Is there any possible way to insert a midi controller into a Noteworthy composer song (Pitch Bend, Modulation, etc.) even unnofficially?

Also, is there any way to use an instrument not in the General MIDI library (like a patch #128 or >) I have a midi renderer that allows extra instruments and whenever I want to use a different library, I have to switch them. If I could add instruments, it would be a whole lot easier. (by using the same library)

The MIDI spec only supports 128 MIDI patches. It is physically impossible to directly select more than 128. However, when combined with the Bank Select feature, many more possible patch changes are addressable, assuming your sound card supports them. See your sound card docs to see if you have the option of using more than just General MIDI patch changes.

Some MIDI controller values can be set via the Multi-point Controller (such as Pitch bend).
