Title: SB AWE32 Full duplex?
Post by: Jonas Vreintaal on 1998-05-24 04:00 AM
Does Sound Blaster AWE32 have full duplex?

Well, I cant etc play a wavefile and record one at the same time.. and I donĀ“t if it is me, or the card.. It comes a message that the device is busy..( I have marked the Full duplex option in Windows 95/System)

Hope someone know these things..

/Jonas

I thought that the SB Cards did support full duplex, as they can do full duplex Inet phone etc.
However, Noteworthy Composer doesn't use Wave in/out at all. It uses midi for playing back and recording compositions.

Full duplex was a free software add on/update.
http://www.creaf.com and get the current drivers.

You might be using WaveSynth. That does not allow wave files to play while midi files are if full duplex is enabled. (I know WaveSynth comes with AWE 64 but I don't know if it comes with AWE 32.)
