Title: Set key signature after MIDI import
Post by: Olivier Miakinen on 1997-02-18 05:00 AM
Sometimes, the MIDI files don't set the correct key signature, and all # and b are accidentals. I know that I can set the key signature with following procedure: first Force Accidentals on each staff, then add key signatures, then Audit Accidentals on each staff.

In order to speed up this procedure, I wonder if it would be possible to Force Accidentals at once on whole score, and the same for Audit Accidentals. Should I write this demand to the wish list ?

Olivier.

One easy way to facilitate this is to use a macro recorder and player-back of key presses and mouse movements. If you have or had Windows 3.1 you can use RECORDER.EXE. Apparently it wasn't bundled with Win 95.

I've asked M$ about this, asking also if I can redistribute this program that they obviously think is redundant. Of course, I've received no reply. :-(

Yes, you certainly can submit this item. However, at present this would not be considered a high priority item. If you have a sequencer, you can edit the MIDI file directly to include the proper key signature (most sequencers support this).

I hope this helps.
