Title: midi drum files
Post by: Sharon on 2005-08-10 10:14 AM
I am confused! I have a downloaded midi drum file I am editing... in one bar is has a big cymbal crash which I like and want to add it into another bar (in the same staff)... but when I copy and paste it in, it sounds like a completely different instrument - a vibraslap! The note is a low A on a treble cleff staff and even if I leave the original cymbal-sounding note where it is and simply remove the bar line just before it, it changes sound. Add the bar line back, and it is back to a cymbal! Copy 'n' pasting it onto a different staff keeps the cymbal sound. So it looks to me like something is going on in certain bars, like something has been set differently or something which changes the sound. Does anyone know or can anyone make a guess as to what...?!? Thanks!!!

Sounds like one of the notes has an implicit accidental.
Try &Tools->&Force Accidentals on each staff.
