Title: External keyboard preprogrammed soundfonts
Post by: Project_2501 on 2005-04-01 04:16 PM
Hello. I'm currently using a Casio WK-3500 keyboard as an external MIDI device. After much hassle, I finally got it to play back through the keyboard. Now I want it to play back using more of it's predefined sounds. When it plays back, it will use the General MIDI settings; for example, sound 000 in general 0-based MIDI comes back as 300 on the keyboard. Is there a way to make NWC send a signal that uses any of the 500+ preprogrammed sounds on the keyboard, or am I stuck with the general 127 MIDI fonts. Thanks.

If this keyboard responds to patch bank selection, then you can select alternate patch banks within the Insert, Instrument Patch instruction in NWC. Check your keyboard synthesizer documentation on what it expects to select different instruments beyond General MIDI.
