There are two things that affect the position of the lyrics. One is the staff size. You can adjust the staff size in the Staff Properties (F2). Next, you can enter the offset. Go to the lyrics, Configuration tab, and enter a value for Offset. Plus = up, Minus = down.
That should do it!

Sometimes I find it helpful to change the "direction" of the slur and/or tie so that it does not intrude into the lyrics, etc.

To do this:

Select (highlight) the first note that has the slur/tie, then...

Click Edit > Properties > Notes, then in the "direction" boxes, change the direction  of the slur and/or tie.

I have built a new slur font to try and solve this problem. It's in the Sciptorium. I have a few changes to make to it which should be available in  a day or so.
