Title: help!! spaces!
Post by: Hank on 2005-03-20 03:54 AM
a few problems with spaces

1. How do you make an indent in the first bar of the music? When i print my music out, it's all straight and looks bad :/

2. When you stick a dynamic or a dynamic variance into the music, how do you get rid of the space that it adds into the music?

If anyone knows the answer to these problems...thx very very much

In version 2 you can fake the indent by Page setup / Options / Staff labels, and using spaces for the name of your staff.  In version 1, you need to use at least one character.  I'd try a period followed by some spaces, maybe with another period following the spaces.

Your dynamic signs are probably set to "preserve width."  Highlight them, press control-e, and turn that off in the Expression Placement tab.

You don't even need a space. You can use an unprintable character. Alt-255 works fine. So enter Alt-255 and a lot of spaces as your staff label, and there's your indent.
