How do you type in that little dotted-lined octave up indicator on a piano score (without having to put in a treble clef with an eight on the top)?
NWC doesn't have that feature automatically, the way you wish it to appear. You can type in dashes as text, with a small-size user font. Alignment is tricky.
I was thinking about that too, I think I'll try to do that. Thanks
Generally I do the dotted line twice. Insert it at the beginning of the passage that octave shifts, and then insert it again at the last note of that segment. Right justify the terminal one. This gives some control over the exact end of the line, although it's still finicky, and there can be some overlap between the two lines.
"Insert", "Clef" , then in "Octave Shift", select "Octave Up", or "Octave Down". This will not only print the Clef sign with the superscript or subscript 8, it will give you the shifted playback, as well.
