Title: a plus sign (+) over a note.
Post by: Malcolm Dale on 2004-12-21 03:07 AM
I am trying to sequence Mozart Piano Concerto No 2 and there is a plus sign (+) over a few of the notes. What does this signify?

Are you sure it's a + sign? It could be an 'accent à mordent' (which looks like a little z with a vertical line through it).

It could be a fingering indicator.  Where the European continent has always used 1-2-3-4-5, England used "+" for thumb, then 1-2-3-4 for the fingers.

Cheers,

If it is in the horns, it means a stopped note.
