Sound fonts sound nice until I load them into my sound card.
I wonder why, since sound fonts are supposed to sound the same regardless of midi device used?
Sound quality is still a function of the hardware that you use to reproduce it. The most important component is generally the speakers. The sound card that renders the sound font to analog audio also plays an important role.
