I can't help, but I can give advice. Give up! I did.
Thats hilarious. I guess theres no point in it then.

I have struggled with both the newsgroups but have just given up. Outlook Express has abysmal sign-up instructions.
I'll give it another try today, but I'm not optimistic.
OK Vince, I think I succeeded.
Essentially, you need to log into the NWC instruction page here:
https://www.noteworthysoftware.com/newsgroup/signup.php
When you've entered your data, you go to the next page, which gives decent instructions.
The most important challenge in Outlook Express is adding a newsgroup. The NWC instruction page you've just come to says:
"For example, in Outlook Express, you start the process from Tools | Accounts. Click the News tab, the Add>News command, then follow the prompts. Make sure to enable the "My news server requires me to log on" option. "
It worked for me.
What newsgroup reader are you using? What happened when you followed the instructions? What was the error message?
Everything worked today, the instructions on your page helped me, big time. I think you explained it to me before, re the original 1.75 newsgroup, but I have been unable to find that message.
I'm able to access both newsgroups now. Thanks, Eric.
I should point out that my frustration was with Outlook Express and Grabit, not NWC.
I think my problem is that my server doesnt like to recieve outside connection from other servers. So i cant connect to the nwcnewsgroup server. Im using a school server that has all tis security crap and stuff. Ill just use this forum cus it already rocks the house. Thanks fellas!

In case you wanted to know what it said here it is:
500 bad authinfo param
Configuration:
Protocol: NNTP
Port: 119
Secure(SSL): 0
Error Number: 500
Code: 800ccc18
yep. i have absolutely no idea what that means. just if theres any competition going post it on the forum or somethin. Thanks.

If you sit behind a firewall that blocks port 119 traffic, then you will not be able to access any private NNTP newsgroups, including ours.
