Title: sound blaster for notebooks!
Post by: Clement on 2004-10-15 05:50 PM
To the people having nwc on a notebook, I have great news. A new sound card just came out from creative labs: the PCMCIA Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 ZS Notebook sound card! For more information take a look at www.soundblaster.com

If only creative labs had a sound blaster live! Which might be cheaper for notebooks. At least 129.99 isn’t much for being a first Sound blaster sound card for notebook that can support sound fonts as well!

I recommend you check this latest Audigy sound card out very carefully before spending any money.  Earlier this year I bought the Audigy 2NX, intending to use it with my lap-top computer - but I was bitterly disappointed to find that its sound font support was very limited and not at all equivalent to the SBLive! cards.

does it support external midi devices, like a midi keyboard?

Sorry, I have been off-line whilst re-locating.
Audigy 2NX does not have a midi input socket as such.  To connect a midi keyboard to your lap-top computer you would need to go in through a USB port - which means you need a keyboard with a USB connector (such as the MIdiMan) OR a midi to USB adapter such as the MidiSport or Roland.
