Title: hanging ties
Post by: user111 ("ME") on 2004-09-29 04:49 PM
if you do a tied note with an accidental like this:

A#-tie-A(no sharp sign)

the appearance looks right but the note with the accidental is played until the next note with the accidendal like this:

A#-tie-A(no sharp sign)|[some other notes](A# keeps playing until)|[some other notes]A#

Yes, everyone who has read the NWC documentation knows this. This question has been addressed in the NWC FAQ, for example.

You'll need to add an accidental to the note in the next bar, but this accidental is automatically hidden, so that the result is visually correct.

You can find all these hanging ties in a staff using the Find tool. In the Find dialog, select first By Category and then Hanging Note Tie in the drop-down box.

sorry the hanging tie plays through the whole piece, not just to the next note with that accidental
