Title: Size of staffs and notes
Post by: Jeremy on 1998-03-28 05:00 AM
I have probably a very simple problem but I cannot find any help in the help menus etc.
My staffs and notes seem to be very big when I print out the music but I cannot find a way to reducing either, can anyone help?
Thanks

Jeremy :o)

Jeremy, the following should help:
From FILE select PAGE SETUP, then OPTIONS TAB
then change 'Staff Size(in points)' 40,
to something less, say 20,15,25.
Go back to FILE and hit Page preview.
Also, the PREVIEW TAB in page setup will tell you
the Number of pages required to print your score.
Hope this helps you out

The options, size, preview, and copy features are things about NoteWorthy I love so much.

Is there anyway to make the default (in Normal) some size other than 40? Or should we just create another tetmplate and click on that instead?

One of the main reasons for templates is to allow user control over option settings. The best thing to do is create your own "Normal" or "Blank" template, and use it instead of our internally default "<Blank Score>" template.

This seems to be a common problem for new users. I think
they get used to the nice intuitive interface where notes get
automatically laid out for them, and expect printing to work
the same way. When they press the print button there is
no hint that you can configure how it will look.

I think the solution is to put Print Preview
and a Print Setup buttons on the print dialog, so users are
made aware that these options exist.
