I can't open a song I spent a whole day to make.
The error message is "This binary file appears to have been improperly treated as an ASCII file..." Can anybody help me get it back? The .BAK file too can't open.
This sounds like a corrupted file. There are a couple of things that you should consider doing:
- First, try renaming the *.bak to *.bak.nwc and see if it will open.
- E-mail a copy of the file and its *.bak to us, and we will see what, if anything, can be recovered.
- Perform diagnostics on your hard drive to determine why you have a corruption (your hard drive could be about to fail).

OK, we received both of your messages. Both of the files that you sent are only 12 bytes, so there is no data in the files to actually recover.
