Title: Beam notes from upper and lower staff into a single triplet
Post by: Kurt G. Engelen on 2004-04-12 08:19 AM
My son aged 9 composes for piano. He tried to beam notes from the lower staff in Fa-clef and notes from the upper staff in Sol-clef in a same triplet, but could not find how to do it.

I didn't find this problem addressed in the forum.

Can anyone help?

Kurt

Well, it has been addressed, but I'm not sure how to find those other threads (apparently, I'm no good with search engines...).
Long story short - this feature is not native to NWC.
There are a few workarounds, but none that I would inflict upon a nine-year-old.
He can make it sound right very easily, though.

You could do two tripolets, one on each staff, and just have tripolet rests when the otehr staff is playing..

AKA

7 = rest  N = note

S 1:      7N7

S 2:      N7N
