I have a Soundblaster PCI128. I know it is an ancient card and I'll propably have to buy a new soundcard someday. My problem is that I can't use the synthesizer voices that are on the soundcard and I think that's because of WinXP...
WinXp doesn't even find the midi driver for my SB128! Does anybody out there know how to get this fixed? I have tried to browse around the net for some time now.
See if the online magazine Smart Computing helps you:

Thanks for the answer!
I tried to browse that webpage, unfortunatly I can't read the whole articles because I would need to subscribe for their magazine in order to read the full article...
Well I guess the best thing would be to get a new soundcard. Does for instance the more recent soundblaster cards midi sythesizers work in WinXP? Any recommendations on what soundcard I should get?
Thanx!
My apologies, I hadn't fully explored the site and didn't realize it required a subscription. I had a borrowed hardcopy of the magazine a while ago, which I relied on heavily to resolve my sound problems, and I later looked its site up without checking all the detail.
Soundblaster appears to have an xp driver update at http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp
Hopefully, that'll work for you.
Thanks for the help!
After downloading the latest driver the SoundBlaster synthesizer works perfectly (:
