Title: Starting tempo
Post by: Alan Rolfe on 1998-02-20 05:00 AM
I know how to change the tempo by inserting a tempo change,
but how can I set the tempo at which a song starts.
I find that I have to insert a tempo change after the first
note, or rest, or insert an extra bar to get it to start at
the speed I want.

Do you have another tempo change elsewhere in the score that starts at the beginning of the song? If so, you must remove it if you want a tempo is some other location higher in the score to control the tempo. For example, on an imported MIDI score, any tempo changes contained in the file are placed in the conductor staff (the last staff in the imported score).
