Title: Lyric placement
Post by: Dale on 2003-09-16 08:16 PM
Dumb question but how do you get your lyrics to start after the intro. everything I try the lyrics start under the first note of the song. I want the lyrics to start in the fifth measure.

Thanks.

Not a dumb question. There is a simple answer, though. Well, two simple answers.

The underscore character ( _ ) is your friend. It displays as a blank, and counts as a letter.

Thus, " _ " under a note means "no syllable", and "the_end" would be two words (presumably pronounced as one syllable) under one note.

Using a new feature somewhere in 1.7+ versions of NWC, you can also highlight all the "introductory" measures, do: change properties, note, and set them all at mouse-stroke to 'never any syllable attached.'
