Title: Convert Encore to NWC?
Post by: Paul R. Coats on 2003-07-23 11:37 PM
I am working with another composer who wants to begin using NWC, but wants to convert his older Encore files.  Is there a way to do this?

Guess it's my turn to leave the stock (but only) answer.  No direct conversion possible to NWC from ANY other sequencer or notation program, but NWC will import any Type 1 MIDI file.  The Type 1 (seperate tracks for each instrumental part) MIDI file is the "medium of exchange" for computer music.  Each Encore file will have to be saved in Encore as a Type 1 MIDI file and then opened in NWC one at a time, setting the Import options so as to give the desired look to the score.

That's what I thought.  I have done the same for Finale to NWC or vice versa.  Thanks.
