Here's how I convert NWC files to Finale .MUS files.

1. Print the NWC arrangement to PS files, one page at a time.
page1.ps
page2.ps
etc...

(This procedure requires you to have installed a printer device into Windows that reads PS files. You don't have to have the printer hardware installed. You only have to install the drive. If you install the HP Laserjet 4/4M PS device, that one will work. In the printer's properties page, you must select FILE: Print to File on the Ports tab.)

2. Use GSView to convert each ps to a tif
page1.tif
page2.tif
etc.

(In the Convert dialog, select tiff24nc and 204x196)

These files work as if you had scanned in the score from paper. You get a cleaner scan this way, though.

(Get GSView and Ghostscript from http://www.ghostgum.com.au.)

3. Use SharpEye to convert tif files to MusicXML
The batch mode lets you append tif files into a single
MusicXML document.

(Get SharpEye from http://www.visiv.co.uk/dload.htm.)

4. Import MusicXML file into Finale

(Get the Dolet MusicXML plugin from http://store.recordare.com/doletfin1.html. The plugin is bundled with Finale 2003. You can download it for versions 2000 and greater.)

Does anyone know of a program that can convert nwc files to audio files, like wma or mp3...?

I have, at times, saved the NWC to a MIDI 1 file, dropped that into Finale, then cleaned it up and edited.
