Title: Win 3.1 soundcard driver
Post by: John Kavanagh on 2003-05-08 04:06 PM
I'm having an old Pentium rebuilt so I can use Win 3.1 on it, and it's all set up except the fellow doing it for me can't find a driver for the sound card. Can anyone suggest a good place to look?

Driverguide (http://www.driverguide.com/) is a good place to start. Requires free registration.

Must be a very slow P1 if it won't run Win95. Win 98 requires a minimum of 75MHz, though there is a work-around, IIRC.

John
What soundcard do you have?
Perhaps an NWC user can help you out!

I'm taking Win 95 off of it, and loading Win 3.1. I'm funny that way - I use XP at work, but I find 95 an awkward transitional stage, whereas I'm quite comfortable with 3.1 and have all kinds of macros and things written for it that I don't want to give up.

Anyway, I'll post a more specific inquiry when I get the thing back - I've given up on this repair person.

Indeed. 3.11 is much better.
