Title: Changing instruments

On one stave, how can I change the instrument, say from piano to trumpet?

With the staff selected, press F2 and select the "Instrument" tab.  If you need to change the instrument in the middle, e.g., strings going from arco to pizz. and vice versa, go to the "Insert" menu and select "Instrument", or just press "i".
