Title: meter conversion
Post by: Rich on 1998-01-14 05:00 AM
Does any one know of an easy way to convert all of the
notes in a manuscript to match a changed time signature.
If a piece is originally written in 4/4 time and is then
changed to 4/8 time is there a global command to change
all 1/4 notes to 1/8 notes and all 1/8 notes to 1/16 notes
etc. Thanks for any input on this question.

This kind of facility is not currently available in NWC. You can try to export to MIDI and then halve the note lengths, but this is the only approach that I can think of that might automate this task.

just thought you'd be pleased to know that it's now (since version 1.55??) feasible: select the part you want to "double" or "halve" and press "+" or "-".

Be careful to where wholes are when using "+" though. They need to be manually doubled.

And don't forget to modify the time signature :)

HTH!
