Title: File Import from KORG Triton?
Post by: John on 2003-03-25 04:44 PM
Hi all...

I am considering buying NWC, mainly to import files saved on my KORG Triton...  Is this easily done?  Would I have to somehow convert my(I believe they are .smf files) to .mid files?  If so, how?

I would much appreciate any help...

Do your Korg files actually have an extension ".smf"?  In all the material I've read on MIDI "smf" is simply an abbreviation for "Standard MIDI File", which should have an extension of ".mid" for Windows and ".rmi" on Mac.  Might be worth it to try importing them into NWC as is, it just might work!

On the Triton under Media / Save / Utility, choose "Save to Std MIDI file"; the extension will be .MID; NWC can load that, no problem.
