Title: Access violation
Post by: BARBE on 2003-03-06 08:43 AM
When playing noteworthy file on windows XP, i have an error message :"Access violation in module NWC32.EXE". Sometimes, the computer crashes and reboot! I use the latest upgrade (1.75.9). But the Midi files are correctly read.

This kind of thing usually is caused by a poorly behaving driver, either display driver or MIDI driver.

- Have you changed anything recently on your computer?

- Does this happen on just one file, or many files?

- What is the exact message that you get when it happens?

I change some composants of my computer.
The sound card is now integrated and i use xp. I search someody who use NWC with xp :-)

The most frequently error message is Acces Violation in module nwc32.exe (+ bill message) after a few time (1/2/3 minutes)
Sometimes the computer shutdown directly.
If i use Window media player everithing is good (no problem with all midi files)

Thanks

I do not know enough about software or hardware to be helpful. But I do use NWC on Windows XP, and have no problem of any kind. The sound card is the one that came pre-installed with my computer (a laptop). It does not use installable "soundfonts," but only the sound synth database that comes with the sound card.
