How can I insert say a mim and then two crotchets at the same time in the music but on the same line??
I've seen this done in the sample of 'The First Nowell'!!

First, enter the minim with say tails down selected. Then select tails up and then a crotchet. Position the cursor to the right of the minim at the note value that you want the first crotchet.
Hold down the control key and press the enter key.
This method can be used to build up a chord. For the second crotchet, follow the second part of this procedure again.
There ara a few rules to building up a chord such as - you can't have more than two note values in one chord and (in versions prior to the beta 1.5) you cannot have two notes at the same vertical position.
