I may not understand your question, but you can look at the drum sections of some of the song templates for an example of how to add drum sounds. There is also a section in the help file that documents the note pitches used to trigger General MIDI drumn sounds.
Click with right mousebutton on the staff and choose
"Staff properties...", then go to the MIDI-section and set the Channel at number 10.
