Title: Pre-show music needs.
Post by: Robin Dale Robertson on 2003-01-22 05:00 PM
I am currently directing The Miracle Worker (the famous play about Helen Keller/Annie Sullivan) in Wilmington, NC and am searching for a variety of 'popular' music of the show's era to play as 'preshow music'. A few of the songs I will use should reflect the 20 yr + aftermath of the Civil War (direct references in play which is set in Tuscombia, Alabama) and that of the popular music of the 1886-1887 (the year(s) the play is set.

I would prefer to have my audio designer for the show download selections...is there such a site?

Please email me at rdr_888@hotmail.com with your suggestions.  Thanks, Robin

Search the web for "public domain songs."  This is one such site, I'm pretty sure it's not the one I was thinking of:

http://www.mysheetmusic.com/publicdomain.asp

There is at least one that has sheet music or midis for free download.
