Has there been anyone out there that has attempted to import, or in some way trigger a WAV file in a certain place in a MIDI File created by this software? Looking to create an effect here...........if anyone can give me any insight on this one, I would greatly appreciate it......thanks in advance.....
I'm afraid I couldn't understand your query exactly. If you're asking WAV to MIDI conversion, it has been discussed for long at this forum. Use the search facility.
If you wish to mix a WAV and MIDI files, that could be done in two ways:
- Using an audio capable sequencer such as Cub@se or C@cew@lk;
- Recording your MIDI to WAV [search the forum about how to do that or see https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=2550 for a quick and dirty method] and mixing the WAV files using an appropriate tool such as W@velab or Cool€dit.

The only sounds that NWC produces are from MIDI events, so you'd have to put the WAV source into a Sound Font as a sample and load that into your MIDI card.

I also suggest that you play the MIDI file to WAV (search the forum for tips - it requires additional techniques), then mix the result with your other WAV. For the second step, you can use the free "Audacity" program, if you don't already have software to do it.
Suppose you want to create NWC music (ultimately, MIDI) that will coordinate with an existing audio file. Your choice is to alter the NWC notation so that it synchronizes with the audio, or alter the audio so that it synchronizes with whatever you wrote in NWC.
NWC1.75 does not allow you to import audio (WAV, MP3) tracks. However, you can save your NWC as MIDI, then import it into Audacity, a free program (new version 1.2):

Audacity is a full audio editor. The newest version allows you to display (but not play or edit) an imported MIDI file next to the editable audio file. Then, you can alter the audio so that it synchronizes with your MIDI.
To merge the audio with the sound from the MIDI, you must record the MIDI to WAV https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=3468 then bring this recording into Audacity along with the other audio.
There are also commercial and shareware programs that can do this sort of thing.
