Post by: Dave Goss on 2003-01-02 04:23 PM
yo, i was wondering how do i go about connecting an electric guitar into my comouter so it plays on there for recording stuff.  I have a soundblaster live soundcard.

You should be able to record a WAV file using Creative Wave Studio, which came with the software for your soundcard. Check its Help menu, index, for the topic Recording a New Wave File.

The actual connection between computer and guitar is something you want to talk to your computer store about.  Or the store that sold you the guitar.  Speak to someone with experience, perhaps the boss, not one of the flunkies.  It wouldn't be fun frying your computer.

You will need a MIDI guitar pickup to record from a guitar to a sequencer or notator.
You can find some information here:

Sorry, you need to ask Santa Claus, and wait until Christmas...
