Help !! Suddenly, when I select Play, no sound comes out. The PC sound card is working OK. How can I get to the Noteworthy dialog box which allows adding or taking out sound generator cards to the program? It only seems to come up for the first time after reloading the program.
No staves are muted, so it is not the obvious cause.

Two instances of NWC loaded, or some other sound producer ( e.g. NWP) and NWC loaded simultaneously?
Since your problem arrived suddenly, the key is to figure out what you changed and fix it. Common changes are:
- turning down the volume
- using the same MIDI device in multiple programs when the device driver does not support this
- changing the devices used by NWC from Tools | Options but not updating the staff play device (for example, selecting both the MIDI Mapper and another device in Devices used by play back can cause problems unless you are sure that you know what you are doing)

Also, there is one or two media file players that stubbornly insist on resetting the MIDI Synth volume to 0 in some computer configurations. This means that your synth volume might be turned down in the system mixer, even though you did not do it yourself.
Many thanks. Goung to Tools Options Midi and getting rid of two of the devices brought the sound back !
