Title: no soundcard software to load Jeux
Post by: Simon Carroll on 2002-11-02 07:57 PM
The audio HQ I use to load soundfonts doesn't work anymore and I am sure it's the only software I have that is capable of loading soundfonts into NWC. It says that it needs to be installed again and I don't have the CD.  Can anyone tell me what to do?

Provided that you already have a soundfont enabled sound card (such as AWE32 or 64, or Live! or Audigy) then all you need to do is go to Creative Labs website and download the new set of drivers, etc. Quite a big download but worth it.

This might also have happened if you installed an automatic update to Win XP which came down the line whilst surfing (funny how the PC gets slow all of a sudden and then you notice the little icon in the system tray busily working away - creepy really). There were two of these recently and each time I had to reinstall all the drivers, though not the programs like Audio HQ.

What's really creepy is that right when I read this, the WindowsUpdate icon appeared in my system tray.
I have mine set to ask if it's okay to do things, though.
