Title: ABC > NWC < ABC
Post by: Vince Brennan on 2002-10-05 03:05 PM
Back in '98 there was a small thread about converting ABC >NWC and NWC >ABC.  Anyone have anything new on this (other than the standard 'convert to MID and then to NWC' method)yet?

I host some O'Neill's Music Of Ireland and Allan's Irish Fiddler pages on my website (http://www.sosyourmom.com) and the task of transcribing several thousand pieces of music into NWC by hand is... well, a bit daunting is an adequate description.

Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Sigh. The problem with having duplicate thread on a topic is that it calls for duplicate responses.

About 6 months ago, as I recall, someone did post a forum message about having an ABC-NWC conversion program. Use the forum "search".

I'm sort of interested, too, so I've already done the search
(had to search "abc" in "message text").

This looks good:

ABC2NWC is the best solution today. It is a shareware and you can download on http://members.aol.com/abacusmusic/.

I have used for many score written for bagapipe. Some correction must be done manually after conversion.
