A piece containing a "TO CODA" in measure 2, a "CODA" in measure 4, a "Special ending 1" in measure 6, a "DC AL CODA" in measure 7, and a "Default ending" in measure 8 should play measures:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2-4 5 8 9
Now it plays:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 1 2 4 5 6 7 8 9
In other words: it includes special ending 1 in the second round.
Is that a bug?
Any ideas for workaround (without adding measures).
You use special endings with Master Repeats. Which measures contain your Master Repeats?
Insert as follows:
Top of the stave: Master repeat open
Bar 3: Special ending 1st
Bar 4: Special ending 1st and 2nd
Bar 6: Special ending 1st
Bar 7(Right side):Master repeat close
It sounds like you are trying to use special endings as controls in TO CODA redirection. It does not work this way. Your special endings are used to control the ending leading up to a Master Repeat Close, or a Section Close on the final ending. Each special ending should be finalized with one of these two bar types. See the REPEAT*.nwc samples for demos of how repeats are put together.
I didn't mean insert them adding to a piece Kees mentioned.
I meant insert only these items.
This has nothing to do with TO CODA or CODA.
I tried it and it did work.
Sorry Kaz, I thought you were Kees.
The master repeat close in in 7.
Maybe I can mail an example?
Kees
About reply6:
Well I am a little bit confused.
Master repeat close in 7 is necessary and actually so I wrote in reply2.
You don't have to do that, I can imagin with your text.
Kaz,
Yes, your solution works.
I believe that the proper way to print this piece would be with the CODA stuff. To achive that I kept my "To Coda" and "Coda" and replaced the "D.C. al Coda" with plain text and I made the extra special endings (in 3 and 4) invisible.
Now it prints OK and in plays OK.
Thanks
I have just added a master repeat with two endings and the sequence is failing to disregard the 1st ending on the second go araoud!
Have you added the master repeat close as well as the special ending for the bar containing the 1st ending?
And have you put the special ending and repeat marks on all staves? I've fallen foul of that one in the past.
