Title: No midi input in PSR-170 Win 2000 SiS 630 card
Post by: Ludacris on 2002-08-22 12:44 AM
I have a SiS 630 sound card,a Yamaha PSR-170 keyboard and am running Win 2000.  I have the Midi input cable attached to the output of my keyboard and vice versa, with the other end securely attached to my PC game port..  I have used a variety of software, but the most recent being Voyetra Music
Starter Kit and Anvil Studio 2002.  Neither detects my keys when I play.  Windows 2000 doesn't even detect a MPU-401 Multimedia Compatible Device, so I don't think the device is plug and play.  I don't think I have much more hair left to pull out.  Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much.

Did you install the drivers for W2K? The filename is 630_206_win2000.zip and you can get it straight from SiS (http://www.sis.com/support/driver/630.htm). Good luck!

PS - Are you Ludacris, or are you referring to your situation? :-P
