Title: What am I doing?
Post by: Frank on 2002-08-11 01:40 AM
I've just downloaded the free version and can't start writing a song?  Is there something wrong with the program or am I just really stupid?  I can't figure out how to put a note on the staff...as there is no toolbar with notes, and no options to put notes anywhere.  Somebody please help, how do I start my own composition?

Well, the "Getting Started" section of the Help menu is a good place to, er... get started.

But to answer your specific question - to place a note on the staff, press the Enter key. To place a rest, press the space bar. If you insist on using the mouse, right-click to bring up a context menu, then select note, rest, etc.

Have fun with the program!

Erm... Did you mean "the shareware version"? because free, I think it refers to the player (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/player), web plug-in (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/composer/plugin.htm) or WinAmp plug-in (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/composer/winamp.htm)... which don't allow to write music. Only NWComposer (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/composer) allows this.

Just in case...
