Title: How do I get a vibrato for the violin?

Please could someone inform me about how it is that you can get a vibrato.

MPC - Mod Wheel Controller. Use linear sweep style to gradually fade the vibrato in and out.

My violin has a vibrato - I can't get rid of it.  Most of the other instruments have it, too.
