Title: Brass Soundfonts
Post by: Steve Wilson on 2002-04-14 03:41 PM
I regularly use Noteworthy for arranging and I would like someone to create a Brass Soundfont for me if possible please?  I am tired of the poor brass samples on my soundcard and I'm sure that better sounds are possible. As a brass player myself, I know that only real instruments/players can produce real sounds, but it would be more acceptable to have some slightly more realistic sounds.  I already have the necessary samples on minidisc/cd rom, but I would appreciate help with turning them into a good soundfont. Can anyone help please?

You'll get the best replies on The Soundfont Newsgroup (http://news://news.silco.com/silco.hammersound.soundfonts).

If you have an SB Live or Audigy soundcard, you already have Vienna Soundfont Studio which is the basic soundfont tool but you might think of giving Alive (http://www.soundfaction.com) a try for more sophisticated operations.

Let me not forget the Hybrid (http://web.ukonline.co.uk/hybrid2002/) site which hosts several tips & tutorials.

yeah
same here man, by the way
these are expensive, but the most realistic brass soundfonts ever heard:

available from www.sonicimplants.com

listen to it, man, they are ABSOLUTELY PERFECT, like, I mean, good enough to score a feature film.  Not kidding, and not an uneducated opinion either,
