Title: Off topic about another off topic
Post by: M. on 2002-03-17 05:00 AM
Hi,

I thought that I had read on this forum about someone
wanting to try out a newer version of the yamaha
softsynth, after they had tried an earlier version.
I tried searching the archive, but couldn't find it -
so, sorry about this off topic :-)

Anyway, the problem is/was that the new version would say
that the trial period is expired because of the older
install. I remember the reply to the old post said to
delete the yamaha entries in REGEDIT. I did this, but
it still says the trial is expired. Am I missing something?

Thanks and sorry again . . .

:-)

No, you're not missing anything. Apparently they store information about previously installed versions somewhere other than the registry.

My suggestion would be to drop Yamaha a note. I can't imagine them not having had other complaints about this.

Good luck,
Fred

If the information is not in the Registry, another possible location is a file with the extension LGC.

I have a licensed copy of SYG-20 on my system - no *.LGC files anywhere to be found.
