Title: Goldberg Variations
Post by: Sam on 2002-01-29 05:00 AM
Hi, I am looking for nwc or midi of Bachs Goldberg Variations. It goes by another name which I dont know, so does someone know its original name?

I have tried to search "Goldberg" at the scriptorium but there were no matches.

Sam,

It's also known as the "Aria with Thirty Variations", and it's number 988 in the Schmieder catalog of Bach's Works; you'll see this as the BWV number or occasionally as the S. number.

By the way, I don't know of any NWC versions of the Goldberg Variations, but there are several MIDI versions on the J.S. Bach page of the Classical MIDI Archives (http://www.classicalarchives.com/bach.html).
