Title: how do i put an mp3 onto a cd?

how do i put an mp3 file onto a cd? i have a cd burner. it writes at 24x rewrites at 10x and reads at 40x. please help me, do i need special software?

Your CD burner should have come with all the necessary software, usually Adaptec's "Easy CD". Drag 'n' drop your mp3 files in the Create Audio CD window, set your options, and burn away!

Sure, you can do anything the hard way if you want. You can also put up with MusicMatch's spyware, if your life isn't exciting enough already.

I personally prefer doing it the easy way, letting Adaptec's Easy-CD-Writer do the mp3-to-wav conversion transparently and on the fly. But to each his own.
