Title: question about 1812 overture
Post by: Crystal on 2001-11-28 05:00 AM
What are the best websites to go to for information about the 1812 overture that would be useful to a student for info for a seminar? And also where would I find the lyrics to the opening? (I believe they are in German) and I would need a translation of them.

I know this has been discussed before.
In the NG I think, but also here: a simple search (http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/nwcforum/search.htm) gives https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=1059 and https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=1833. In https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=1059.msg5247#msg5247 there is a link to the lyrics (which seems dead), and on reply 10 there are russian and english lyrics.

HTH!

I don't know if this info will be in time but there is a site called band-chat.org where registered members acan post questions. the site is full of professional musicians, performers and educators. I think they could give you enough info to un several seminars. There is no fee for joining and if you are a serious musician t's a great place fr discussion
