Title: Character Map Pro
Post by: Messer Sagredo on 2001-11-15 05:00 AM
Hello everybody!
I've read some time ago about a freeware called "Character Map Pro", by Alexander Gorbatchev, useful utility for easier copy/paste of non-standard chars inside lyrics.
I've tried to search for it on the Internet, and what I could find is the following URL:
www.softpile.com/Desktop/Fonts/Review_02752_index.html
from which it's not possible to download it.
Moreover, Gorbatchev's homepage, www.alexdg.com, contains a mere "be..." and nothing more.
Anyone could help me in sending me that application (it's freeware) or telling me where it can be found?
Thanx a lot,
MS

The first hit on Google returned this:

Download CMP (http://www.5star-shareware.com/Desktop/FontTools/charmap-pro-download.html)

Cheers,

Well... great!

I used Google too but couldn't see that URL, God knows why...

Thanks a lot, Fred!

Hey! This is pretty good.
Working at 800x640, I can't read M$'s Char Map.
This one's certainly more readable.

Indeed, "Character Map Pro" is very good. Other good, free programs are "Typecase" and "Characteristica." They can be found at Simtel and maybe other download sites. Each of these has its benefits and quirks.
